Biography

Wonderlick's two founding members, Jay Blumenfield and Tim Quirk, came together in December 2000 to record free music for a website. The two had previously performed together under different guises (most notably as one half of the smart punk-pop outfit Too Much Joy), but this new project resulted in a concept album that was crafted over the course of a year. Using the Internet, Wonderlick released free individual songs from the project until the album was finished, and included friends such as Spark vocalist Wendy Allen and magician Penn Jillette in the process. The album was ultimately released by Future Farmer Recordings in 2002, followed seven years later by the duo's second effort, Topless at the Arco Arena.
