6 Tracks For 12 Credits

I'd love to have this album of Mozart's Divertimento but not at 12 credits.

It's a 6 track album running a little over 45 minutes. Another example of album pricing putting a good album out of the zone. I'd very much like to know how many members will use half their monthly allotment for a single, 6-track album, no matter how good it is.

dude - you should check out some of the electronic/techno two track releases that are going for 12 credits - just over 20 minutes on average and eMusic are charging full album price. rip. off.

There are many other examples ... 3 and 4 track symphonies for 12; and a 4 track symphony (Bruckner 8) at 18 credits! I am seriously thinking of canceling ... what was a great deal is now a rip.

These complaints are getting repetitive. Try e-mailing management instead of clogging up the boards.

Calling the boards of recent days clogged up is a bit much. There aren't that many threads these days.

"I'd very much like to know how many members will use half their monthly allotment for a single, 6-track album, no matter how good it is."

Well half my monthly allotment is more than 12 tracks, but if it something I really wanted and couldn't find cheaper elsewhere, I'd grab it in a minute.

As far as this being a repetitive topic, yes it is. I admit I've raised my eyebrows at the credit cost of a few albums here, but I've found many great deals to to the 12-credit caps.

So it's really up to you. Do you love it enough to cough up the credits?

I wouldn't want to discourage people from posting these messages of complaint about "6 tracks for 12 credits" - it alerts those of us in the "uncapped" part of the world to albums that we can still get for 6 credits ... thanks !

Sorry Archie. I tend to forget that there are parts of the world that are yet uncapped :)

Maybe we could start two running threads-one for deals and one for "not deals."

Remember when the CEO said eMusic would "never sell a song for more than $0.99"?

That was cool.

As long as there is enough other stuff on here you want, let the market forces decide — stick to stuff that IS worth the credit cost. I have albums I'm not willing to pay the credits for -- if there is a clear trend that companies demanding everything they give to emusic be sold for at least 12 credits, they will soon see less profit than other companies. (Or not -- which would mean the market says those 12 track cost ones are objectively worth it to most people.)

ahh market forces. You got to watch out for that invisible hand. It just might be picking your pocket.

haha if you take "being irrational" as a fundamental human right that should have no consequences. if you consistently buy things for prices higher than the value they bring to your life, yeah, you can thank yourself for the prices

eMusic read the boards - and I reserve the right to bitch and moan. That's what the boards are for! ;)
